Miami is a hot spot for fun, exciting things to do. That means there are a ton of places that are great to photograph, or to use as your photo backdrops. Here is my list of favorite places to shoot.
Perez Art Museum
The Perez Art Museum, which is also connected to the new Miami Science Museum and a great open green space called Museum Park, is a favorite of mine. The buildings are beautiful, and the scenery and view of the water and port can’t be beat. Not to mention you have your pick of a million different shots in once place. Parking is a little expensive, but when you get the photographic range from this one spot, it’s totally worth it.
Pine Tree Park
Pine Tree Park is a fun place to go with kids. Plenty of stuff for them to look at, great tree and greenery backdrops and easy parking.
Miami Children’s Museum
This is a hidden gem. You have to drive under the bridge and park in some gravel (there is really no parking lot there), but the views are great at sunset. You get the best lights and blue hours from here silhouetting the Brickell buildings. Have some fun and take a fishing pole along for the ride. Trust me, you wont be the only one.
South Pointe Park
South Pointe Park is a fun, very Miami, spot to shoot. It has beaches, life guard stands, concrete bleachers that lend a cool modern feel. It is a great overall location. It is also easy more the South Beach residents to get to.
Ancient Spanish Monastery
The ancient Spanish Monastery is a great backdrop for any photograph. With the manicured gardens, and old architecture, this site gives a classic feel to any session.
Elaine Gordon Enchanted Forest Park
Elaine Gordon Park has everything a child could want. Ducks, horses, trails to run free on. If your looking for a nice green, natural background this is your place. It also boasts bridges and playgrounds.
The Wynwood Art District is an awesome Miami spot to shoot. It has blocks, and blocks of colorful art, mural, and graffiti covered walls to shoot in front of. The construction, and urban feel to this location gives pictures a nice edgy look. If your looking for something that you can’t find anywhere else, the Wynwood Walls location if for you.
Miami Beach Best Buy Parking Lot
I know, I know. What is she doing adding a Best Buy parking tower to the list? Well, this place gives unparalleled views of down town and the port. I mean come on! Look at the photo. My favorite time to shoot at this location is sunset, and after dark so you can really take advantage of capturing all those city lights.
Brickell City Centre
Brickell City Centre is a relatively new location. With highend shops, lots of neutral gray walls, and fun shadows, this new shopping center portrays luxury and high fashion. If you want a fun fashion forward shoot, or just like the city feel, Brickell City Centre is for you.
Bill Baggs Park
Bill Baggs is a great place for the beachy, watery, wind blown grass Florida photos everyone wants. With greenery, the beach, and walking paths to the lighthouse this location could not be more perfect.
